Readers should be able to see how the journal is supported and what, if anything, sits behind a recommendation.
Reader support and the author’s books
The journal offers voluntary monthly support through Stripe and links to books written by J.C. Howard. Buying an author’s book may support the author through royalties. Support does not purchase editorial influence, a favorable review, or priority for a reader letter.
Affiliate links and sponsorships
No affiliate partnerships or paid advertising placements are active on this journal at present. If that changes, a clear disclosure will accompany each paid recommendation or sponsored placement. An affiliate link can earn the journal a commission when a reader completes a qualifying purchase or action.
Recommendations will be selected for their relevance to readers. Payment will not determine the conclusions of an essay, and any sponsored material will be identified as such.
Keep the relationship clear
Optional journal support, retailer purchases, and Substack subscriptions are separate transactions. Each provider supplies its own prices, terms, and privacy information.
